What we collect

• Email newsletter: if you subscribe, we collect your first name, optional last name, email address, and the page you signed up from, along with the date and time of your consent. We use a double opt-in: no marketing email is sent until you confirm via the link we email you.
• Analytics: we use Plausible, a cookieless, privacy-focused analytics service. It does not track you across sites and we never see your identity. If you use the calculator, we record only a broad income range (for example “$50K–$75K”) — never the exact figure you enter.
• Server logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention (for example, rate limiting).

What we do with it

We use your email address solely to send you the updates you signed up for. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing. Email delivery is handled by Resend, our email service provider, which stores the subscriber list on our behalf.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link that works immediately, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You can also email us at the address below and we will remove you within 10 business days.

Retention and your rights

We keep subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
