On 22 May 2020, Justin Trudeau's cabinet ratified a summer grant program for students, with WE Charity to run it. WE had paid the Prime Minister's mother for 27 speaking engagements and his brother for 9. It had invited his Finance Minister's wife and one of her daughters to Kenya, and the minister went with his family to WE's work in Ecuador; Morneau repaid WE's share of both trips in July 2020. Both men stayed in the room.
